In 2020, as the world grappled with the upheaval of Covid-19 and lockdowns, I found myself hiking with a friend who was navigating a difficult divorce. She had recently separated from her husband and was facing the emotional challenges of living alone in a now-empty house, as her children had all moved out.

During our hike, she unexpectedly broke down, sharing her profound fear of facing the future alone, even the possibility of dying in her home without anyone noticing for days. Her vulnerability struck a deep chord within me, and I realized that countless others must be experiencing this same dread.
